I wear this hat practically all summer long. It's a great sun hat and a decent rain hat as well, and is dressy enough to wear with "good" clothes. I also have a Tilley Nylamtium hat which I love, but it's not as dressy as this one. This one goes anywhere and looks good with anything!
If you like the shape of this hat but really want to cut glare, go for the darker color. The underside of this brim is white so it does not absorb much light.

This hat is an attention-getter.
It tends to stretch with wearing, so I'd recommend not going with too large a size.
According to the Tilley website, the brim is 3" front and sides and 2 1/2" in back. It doesn't catch in back, which is pleasant. It provides plenty of shade.
A side note is that it doesn't scare the cat.
Improvement needed - It would be nice to have more color choices than natural and mocha. The red of the band that came with the natural's three colors is quite pleasant. Sort of a subdued rust.

I bought this for my wife. It is a cute hat on her. She tried one on in the store but needed a smaller size than they stocked, so we got it at Amazon. It came without the chin strap. I called Tilley customer support directly and they sent a chin strap to my home without any hassle at all. I called Tilley on Thursday; the new chin strap arrived on Monday! Awesome customer support!! Thanks, Tilley!
